Dank Memes

As the boys and I have grown older, it has become clear that I lack knowledge of certain (many?) cultural trends.  I first realized this about three years ago when I received an email from a friend who mentioned that she was taking her girls to the 1D concert.  After unsuccessfully attempting to determine who or what "1D" might refer to, I asked Spencer.  He answered, without a pause and with a bit of incredulity, "One Direction."  One Direction was at the time a very popular boy band with whom I was entirely unacquainted.

Realizing that there might be other bands or phenomena of which I was unaware, both Michael and Spencer began the intermittent process of trying to keep me somewhat culturally literate.  Since that time, the boys have been the source of information on the following items (and countless others that I am likely forgetting):

1.  Gangnam Style - the song and the dance
2.  Photo Bombing
3.  Various Texting Acronyms
4.  Dabbing
5.  Snapchat (as an idea, I do not snapchat)
6.  "Dank" memes and other dank things
