School Shopping
Well, I finally got around to buying new clothes for Michael and Spencer for school. Selecting clothes, shopping, holds no interest for Michael. As a result I picked out all of his clothes. Nothing could be simpler. Spencer asked if he could come with me last night to shop for his clothes. He had definite ideas about what he wanted, including red pants (what?). We did not see any red pants, but we did end up with some items he liked. Someone told Spencer today that he looked like a model for the Gap. I think he was pleased. Pictures of the boys in their back-to-school clothes (with the side note that Michael had a very bad cold at the time of these pictures).

Soccer
Michael and Spencer both play on soccer teams in the summer and fall. We had a full weekend of soccer. Spencer had a game on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday Michael had two games, one at 11:30 and one at 2:30 and then Spencer had a game at 4:45. The weather was perfect for watching soccer. I still find it a bit stressful. In part because Spencer grills me after his games about what, specifically, he did not do well during the game.
Here's an action shot of Michael.

First Day of School 2014
Michael begins his final year of middle school, i.e., 8th grade. He grew through two sizes of pants over the summer. He says he doesn't need any new clothes though. He can be a bit stubborn, which is odd given that he is a teenager.
Spencer beings his first year of middle school, i.e., 6th grade. He also grew a lot over the summer. He decided this summer that he wants to be a caddy next year. He thinks caddying will be lucrative, and an opportunity to make good personal and business contacts. He's not interested in golf though.
